Cox Communication of Phoenix Boldly Redefines "Available Now" to mean "Available In 12 Days"

So I'm not a huge TV guy or anything, but I like my Audio/Visual entertainment a fair amount. And I pay attention to things happening in the local market. So I've known that Cox was rolling out OnDemand in the Phoenix area for over a year. I even knew that Tempe (where I currently reside) was the slowest to get this technology that the rest of the country and most of the rest of the Phoenix market has had for a while now.

Via Joplan.com psd to xhtml/CSS

Joplan.com | div_site post

Saw this quick tutorial on going from PSD to xhtml/css layouts in web design on Digg this afternoon. Not a bad write up if you're in the market for such information. I continued to be intrigued by the movement towards tableless design despite the somewhat complex nature of layouts done in pure css. It's really the acceptance of the separation of content from display that is driving this movement and that is a very good thing.

How Americans are living dangerously

How Americans are living dangerously

Via Time Magazine/CNN.com

We agonize over avian flu, which to date has killed precisely no one in the United States, but have to be cajoled into getting vaccinated for the common flu, which contributes to the deaths of 36,000 Americans each year.

We wring our hands over the mad cow pathogen that might be but almost certainly isnt in our hamburger and worry far less about the cholesterol that contributes to the heart disease that kills 700,000 of us annually.

The 10 Minute e-mail address

A disposable email service...A useful service I found while surfing digg this evening that allows you to receive emails at a given address (and respond or click the registration confirmation links!) in them for 10 minutes, then the address is gone.

Nice idea. I like bug me not (see my links) for most things, but I can see this being useful for forums and the like.read more | digg story

SaltWater

Reef Tanks*...

Keeping salt water reef tanks is both extremely challenging and extremely rewarding.
Over the last several years I have kept a number of tanks including a 7 gallon "nano" reef, a 20 gallon long mini reef,
a 120 gallon long fish only tank, and my pride and joy, a 90 gallon display reef.

Having recently relocated across the country from Rochester New York to Phoenix Arizona I was forced to tear down my wonderful tank.

Exciting job offer

So my resume is on some of the job boards. I like what I do now, but I would also like to be just a bit more creative day to day so I have my eyes at least open... Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that the resume sites (this "hit" came from monster) are sometimes just absurd. I routinely get calls and emails from recruiters looking for me to relocate to awful places that I have in no way indicated I would be willing to relocate to. I'm asked about things I'm clearly not qualified or looking to do. We all know the drill, some key word hit in their search and boom, they're on the phone. But this one got me thinking...
