Episode 4 (FINALLY DONE!)

Hi everyone! I have finally finished (and I mean FINALLY) Episode 4 of Cops &... Martians?! I'm sorry for the delay, but it IS (I think) The longest sketch I have ever animated. Seriously, it has more than 250 frames that I had to individually create. That's why it took me an entire week to make it. NOT SPOILER: In case you're wondering, the aliens are REALLY athletic... LOL! You'll see! (As always, post stuff on the forum.)

Missed this nice post at Smashing

One of my new favorite places to poke around is smashing magazine, a site dedicated to web development, mostly design. I remember reading the post : 50 Beautiful CSS-Based Web-Designs in 2006 | Smashing Magazine a while back and never linked to it.

Wal Mart shuts out Firefox

Jonathan Kemp has this follow up on the Tech Crunch posting about wal mart not properly supporting the firefox browser on its new video download site:Design by CSS » Wal-Mart Does Not Support FirefoxThe kicker is, they have now "updated" the site to not render improperly, no... not by fixing the simple CSS problems but instead by kicking out all non IE browsers.Yowza.

A List apart: multi column layouts that work the way we want them to

Multi-Column Layouts Climb Out of the Box:A List Apart: Articles: Multi-Column Layouts Climb Out of the Box This is a fantastic write up with examples of coding multi columned, elastic layouts that have the same height. Very nice, clean markup and some very good looking examples. This is a keeper in the post table based layout that we've mercifully arrived in.

Web Hosting Blues

So I host about a dozen websites, all low traffic, all for family and friends. I eat the monthly cost of a reseller account for everyone and it doesn't bother me because it's not too expensive or anything. I had been hosting with rootmode but got an email a while back saying they were closing down and I needed to move everything and right quick. Woops. Wasn't too psyched about that, because you know I have other things going on in my life that makes moving a dozen sites complicated. There's more info after the jump if you want it.

Smashing Magazines Best of January

Web-Sites of the Month: The Best of January 2007 | Smashing MagazineFound this post via a digg submission last night and just following up with it now. There are a ton of fantastic links here for those in the making stuff for the web world. Very nice indeed.

Online Gambling Crackdown Pushes Super Bowl Bettors... Online

Not that this is a surprise or anything, but here's tech dirts take on a few linked articles examining the "crackdown" on internet gambling. Curiously, albeit not surprisingly, people are still gambling online, they're just doing so with their now tech savvy neighborhood bookie.read more

In case...

Just in case don't get to it next week I'll post episode 3 here right now. Please send comments on the forum! Episodes 2 & 3 really start the plot going. We now know why it's called Cops & ... MARTIANS? Instead of Cops & ... UFO'S?. Read the attatchment!

The title pretty much says it all. ;-)
